We love burgers – El Chanti Deli
That’s a fact. Anybody who wants to be part of our team has to love burgers, that's our first job requirement. To paraphrase Anton Ego’s famous sentence in Ratatouille: “We don’t like burgers, we love them.”
So it may be obvious that we take every opportunity to visit every burger restaurant for our testing.
Company outing? Burger joint.
Romantic candle-lit dinner? Burger joint.
Detox diet after Christmas? Burger joint.
Creative meeting for future blog posts? That’s right! Burger joint.
We so love multitasking!
That’s why we’re here at El Chanti. We’ve pulled together (almost) the entire team and are ready to be inspired by the awesome burgers here!
And it is looking good! The concept: wicked burgers, a couple solid sides and some superb shakes. What more can you ask for? After briefly thinking it over, we’ve made our choices: Cheeseburger, Australian, Italian, Oriental and of course a couple sides.
We take our seats in the cosy, little restaurant and within 5 minutes the first burgers are on the table. Wow, that was quick! Intense anticipation turns to happy and voracious silence. The only thing missing is a sign saying “please don’t disturb, professionals at work here".
The silence is only broken by occasional enthusiastic “hmms” and brief, meaningful words like “amazing”. Only when our stomachs are satisfied come the first remarks: The paddies are all perfect, the outside crispy brown and the inside still nice and pink. The buns are also good.
There’s nothing to complain about when it comes to the Cheeseburger. Fresh greens, red onions, lovely melted cheddar. Bacon was ordered extra: it’s the simple things that make life great! :)
The Oriental is for its halloumi alone a winner. If you don’t want to eat meat, you don't have to settle with a bland tofu patty. The flavourful cheese is a real alternative! Especially in combination with the French dressing and fresh cucumber – simply amazing.
The Italian burger makes our hearts beat faster: A generous portion of beef, grilled mozzarella, cherry tomatoes and rocket. Everything is topped off with a great balsamico gravy. We were very, very satisfied with this little guy.
Last is the Australian with bacon, a fried egg, fried onions, and beetroot chutney. It’s a real must-eat for all burger fans who like it hearty. Heavenly.
And if you are like our Christoph the heartiest of the hearty, upgrade the Australian burger with extra bacon and extra patty to some true food porn. No more needs to be said.
In conclusion: We are very pleased. Time for dessert!
The menu offers three milkshakes. However, much more fun is to create your own on a whim! Oreos, Mars, Lions, Bounty, peach, raspberry, cinnamon, coconut honey, muesli, ice cream, pineapple, chocolate… and much more are available. You’re totally spoiled for choice and no one has ever died of sugar shock, so treat yourself! Who knew pure luck could be so easy… :)
